WAVES PROJECT PHASE I IMPACT REPORT

Fifty women. Eleven Local Government Areas. One starting point and a ripple that is still expanding.

The first cohort of WAVES did not just participate; they showed up fully, recording 100% attendance across every activity. But what matters most is not just who was in the room , it is what left the room with them.

It became a protection that travels.

Every woman was connected to counselors at the WARAKA Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), ensuring access to confidential support when needed. But the impact did not stop there. 40% of participants carried this knowledge back into their communities, leading conversations on gender-based violence. Others took their voices further with 20% of the WAVES women speaking on radio platforms, contributing to 6 advocacy

programs across 2 stations, reaching an estimated 2 million listeners in just three weeks.

WAVES Phase I shows us that when women are equipped with the right tools, knowledge, and support, change does not stay contained — it multiplies.

And this is only the beginning.
